Bishop Visitation Information
For rectors and vicars of the diocese

Please complete a visitation questionnaire concerning the upcoming bishop visitation to your parish in consultation with your wardens at least ten (10) days prior to the visitation.

Also, please be reminded that the loose plate offering received on the visitation day is to be designated for the Bishop’s Discretionary Fund.

Please read the following suggested information:

FOR BISHOP CHANE’S VISITATION

It would be helpful if:

1. A parking space is reserved for him near the church.

2. The parish records (Service Book and Register) be set out, up-to-date and ready to be signed where appropriate.

3. You would designate your preference of vestments:
a) Rochet and Chimere (red and white)
b) Cope and Mitre (white, red or gold cape and bishop’s hat)

4. We suggest you announce that the loose plate offering at each service today is designated for the Bishop’s Discretionary Fund. These funds are used to assist with the pastoral care and continuing needs of all the baptized in the diocese. Please be generous.

Please note the following:

1. The Bishop is not expected to be at the 7:30 am service. If there is a compelling reason for him to attend, that may be negotiated.

2. The Bishop likes to have an opportunity to participate in a forum with the congregation so that he has a chance to entertain questions from them and to offer information about the life and ministry of the diocese. Please keep this in mind during your planning process.
