Sponsored by the Commission on Ministry
Marjory Zoet Bankson is a relational retreat leader, working artist and author. Currently serving as editor of Faith@Work magazine, she was the Executive Director of F@W from 1985 to 2001.
A graduate of Radcliffe College (Harvard University), she has an M.A. in American history from the University of Alaska and an honorary doctorate from Virginia Theological Seminary -- cited for her work in lay ministry.
Marjory is a Steward at Seekers, a Church of the Saviour community in Washington, DC, where she preaches and teaches regularly. Her book, Call to the Soul, presents a template for discerning call at every stage of life. Her others books, Seasons of Friendship (Naomi & Ruth), and Braided Streams (Esther) are also designed for small group use.
The Banksons lead a yearly work pilgrimage to Guatemala for Faith@Work and make their home in Alexandria, Va.
Through baptism we are called to belief in God as revealed in Jesus, the Christ, and to action as his disciples empowered by the Holy Spirit. The specifics of God's call to ministry and our response to that call may change as God's will for our particular gifts continue to unfold before us through spiritual growth, relational experiences, participation in the church and as our life circumstances change. This retreat is designed:
- to help you begin to discern where and to what God is calling you at this time in your life, and
- to guide you in getting support from your immediate faith community as you continue to clarify your life's work.
