Children to Children Appeal 2011-2012
Appeal for Kids from Mozambique
Our partnership with the Anglican Church of Southern Africa has led us into relationships with many people throughout the province. Among them is Bishop Mark van Koevering of the Diocese of Niassa in the country of Mozambique. It is in his diocese that the 2011-2012 Children to Children Appeal is focused. We are asking the children of your church (and the adults also) to offer their prayers, love and support to the children of the Diocese of Niassa.
The Southern Africa Partnership Committee invites your children to help plant a garden to feed the children in Mozambique. Your gifts of $1, $3, $5 or $10 will help children in Mozambique to plant a garden and grow their own healthy food.
More information about the Mozambican children and the “Let’s Plant A Garden” appeal can be downloaded here. The program is once again designed to be used during Advent of 2011, Lent of 2012, or at any other time. Lesson plans, activity suggestions, scripture readings, prayers, hymns and songs are available at here.
The Partnership Committee prayfully encourages you to participate in this year’s appeal. The program will enrich your children and your members to recognize the needs of other children in the world and find out how they live. The gift of food through seeds, watering cans and hoes helps Mozambican children and their families eat and live healthy. In addition, your children can send pictures and drawings to the children in Mozambique.
The Committee wants to express its gratitude to all who supported our appeals in the past. If your parish was one of those, we encourage you to do so again. We also encourage all to take part in this year’s appeal.
So, “Help Plant a Garden” for the kids in the Diocese of Niassa in Mozambique.
