WERK: Washington Episcopalians Respond to Katrina
About Us  

Mission Trip to New Orleans: January 21 - 27, 2007
Christ Church, Georgetown, is sponsoring a mission trip to New Orleans to support St Paul's Episcopal Church and School in its Katrina recovery efforts. Accommodations (dormitory with full kitchen) are provided in the new St Paul's Home Coming Center immediately adjacent to the church and school.  Activities will range from house gutting/rebuilding (under the auspices of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana), to assisting in the operation of the Home Coming Center and other outreach efforts sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana.  Please contact either Betsy LaRoe (202) 965-0041; eslaroe@aol.com; or Tom Murphy (202) 333-6677; tmurphy@vts.edu; Download recruitment flyer [pdf]

Episcopals Bid
for 300 Houses to Fix

The Diocese of Louisiana is among the "developers" bidding for abandoned, blighted houses to fix up. Non profits can obtain these for zero cost.
