The Standing Committee of the Diocese of Washington is pleased to
announce that it has received the needed consents from the bishops
and diocesan standing committees of the Episcopal Church in order to
proceed with the Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde’s ordination as bishop.

Under the Episcopal Church canons (III.11.4), a majority of bishops
exercising jurisdiction and diocesan standing committees must consent
to the bishop-elect's ordination as bishop within 120 days of
receiving notice of the election.
