Woman
(Ivory Coast)
Made specifically for the Museum of African Art in New York City , this crèche from the Ivory Coast was made in Korhogo in the southern part of the country. The most active figure is this rejoicing woman in a yellow gown with her arms outstretched. Although she has no wings, she may be an angel, or perhaps a villager spreading the news of Christ's birth.
