Shepherdess (Ecuador)
This whimsical crèche from Ecuador is made up of molded and baked bread dough. After the bread dough figures have been baked, they are then painted in vivid colors. Each tiny detail of dress and facial feature is individually crafted from tiny pieces of dough and then attached to the figure. This shepherdess wears a red cap and is holding a dove.
