Llama & Shepherd (Chile)
This Chilean nacimiento is made of earth-toned pottery with a small amount of decorative painting. Note the triangular eyes and diamond-shaped lips which make up the highly stylized facial features. The figure is dressed in simple garments trimmed with rectilinear designs on the edges, and has bare feet. Notice the headband and center part in his hair. This shepherd holds by a rope an unidentifiable animal, possibly a llama.
