Shepherd with Flute
(Jordan)
This figure is from a nativity made by Palestinian refugees in the
Aqabat Jaber Refugee Camp. It features clothing which is thought to be
very similar to that worn by Mary, Joseph and the shepherds on the first
Christmas Eve. The figures are embellished with delicate embroidery which
creates the facial features on each figure. This shepherd plays a native flute.
