Our three main events this year will be centered around exploring what it means to be an Episcopalian. We’ll be talking about Faith at this years high school retreat, both personal and communal. We’ll look into scripture and explore the variety of ways the Bible talks about Faith. We’ll have fun, play games, meet new people, and hang out with friends from near and far.
Our number one goal for the weekend is for folks to spend time with God, and that Goal guides The High School retreat staff’s Creation of the weekend. There will be serious parts of the Retreat and at other times we will be silly and Rowdy.
Then there's the Talent Show. Really, its much more of a variety show—the talent selection in our Diocese is gloriously diverse!
Encourage your youth to think in advance—perhaps you might want to prepare something as a group? Or someone may need to bring supplies to share their talent—just remember the cabins don’t lock so please don’t bring expensive music instruments etc.
The Fine Print
- We cannot accommodate late-arriving or early-departing participants. Please do not ask for an exception to this rule.
- You must register online. This is the only way to register.
- What to Bring: Sleeping Bag, Pillow, Towel/Washcloth, PJ's, Toiletries, Flashlight, Comfy (appropriate) cloths, Coat (the wind off the water is cold!);
- Check the weather for Edgewater MD. You may need a rain coat and extra shoes in case of mud.
- What Not to Bring: iPod/MP3 players, video games, cell phones, other electronic entertainment, alcohol, drugs, weapons, fireworks
- While registration is online, we do need to have signatures on file, so ... Online Registration ends at 11:59 pm, Friday, Feb 5, and registration packets should be at Church House by Tuesday, Feb 9, 2010.
- A complete regsitration packet includes:
- Participant Registration Forms signed by participant and parent.
- Parish Registration Form
- Registration Confirmation Email
- Registration Fee if not paid online
