As a member of the Committee on Youth, you will be expected to:
† Be an advocate for youth ministry by:
- Being an active member of your parish
- Being a positive mentor and role model to other youth
- Developing opportunities for growth of youth leadership in the
diocese
- Building relationships with parishes through congregational
visits and regional events
† Develop, design, organize, and run youth events in the diocese
† Attend all events in their entirety
† Pray for each other on a regular basis and worship as a group
when gathered together
In addition, members must be able to attend the Committee on Youth
planning meeting on August 24-25, 2007.
It is an honor and a privilege to serve on the Committee on Youth for the
Diocese of Washington. The COY is charged with a great deal of responsibility
in directing and shaping youth ministry programs and resources in
the Diocese. Serving on this body is time well spent and is also a great
deal of fun!!!
The Committee on Youth is made up of youth and adults from parishes in
the six regions of the Diocese of Washington.
