Elections and Nominations
Diocesan Council—Elect one lay representative
Diocesan Council is the governing board for the diocese and is empowered to act on behalf of diocesan convention while it is not in session (the other 364 days of the year). The Council collaborates with the bishop in developing and executing the diocese's mission strategy, develops and presents a diocesan budget to convention, and authorizes diocesan expenditures. Visit the Council page of the website for more information and to view a list of current members.
Southern Montgomery County will elect their clergy representative to Council at this year's regional assembly. They will serve a term of three years ending at diocesan convention in January 2021. To nominate a clergy person to stand for election, please use the form to the right of this page.
Standing Committee—Nominate ONE CLERGY and one lay
Standing Committee serves as a council of advice to the bishop; approves various stages for people in the process toward ordination; considers requests from parishes to sell or encumber property; and in the absence of a bishop, serves as the diocesan ecclesiastical authority. It is made up of four clergy and four lay people for a total of eight members. Candidates are nominated at each of the eight regional assemblies each year and are elected by the diocesan convention.
