Strategic Ministry Review is a way for every parish to ask, "How are we doing?" It is a time to celebrate what has been done well and to understand what might be done better. Strategic Ministry Review is intended to nurture environments where priorities are discussed regularly and comfortably. As a result, communities and individuals will understand the parish’s goals and what is expected of them. Roles will be clarified, and time and energy will be centered on what is important for the building up of the Body of Christ.
The diocese offers grants of $3,000 to $20,000 to support initiatives that foster collaborative parish partnerships in evangelism, worship, mission and justice work with underserved communities within the diocese.
Our belief is that any congregation can renew itself. Every parish can be the forward-looking, outward-reaching community of faith God calls it to be.
The Diocese of Washington is working to implement a church revitalization strategy that leads to healthy, thriving congregations throughout the diocese, reversing the trends of decline. In support of that goal, we've identified seven key markers that indicate the relative health of a parish -- the Vital Signs of Parish Health. Underpinning those vital signs are concrete metrics that will help parish leaders identify, track, and begin to engage areas of parish life that may need attention. A key component of the revitalization process for congregations is the MissionInsite resource tool that provides analysis of community demographic data.
The Financial Resources Committee is charged with supporting parishes as they build capacity to secure the financial resources necessary to achieve their missions.
