Annual Giving Resources

Best Practices

Although every annual giving campaign is unique to the church in which it takes place, there are some practices that are more likely to help to ensure success.

Budget Information

Many churches distribute information about their annual operating budget as part of their Annual Giving Campaign.

Case Statements

A key fund-raising axiom is that people don’t give to need; they give to vision.

Letters and Correspondence

Your Annual Giving Campaign materials should include a personalized letter to the families and individuals from whom you are requesting a financial pledge. Most often, these letters come from the Rector, but in some churches the letter comes from the Senior Warden.

Pledge Cards

Annual giving campaigns usually include some means for individuals or families, to make a formal financial commitment for the coming fiscal year, typically January 1 through December 31. The actual format of a pledge card can and should vary, depending upon the goals and theme of your annual giving campaign.

Prayers for Stewardship

The Financial Resources Committee has curated a list of prayers relating to stewardship and giving.

Scripture for Stewardship
