Diocesan Investment Policy
The diocesan investment policy limits investment in any entity that derives substantial income from the manufacture, distribution or sale of firearms, alcohol, tobacco, and other products or services that conflict with the Christian mission of the diocese.
Investments of diocesan financial resources are overseen by the Investment Committee of the Diocesan Council. The Council provides professional supervision of the investment funds belonging to parishes, separate congregations, missions, and the diocese. For more information about the Investment Committee, please contact Ellen Fishwick Martin, Chair, or Paul Cooney, Canon to the Ordinary.
The diocesan investment policy has been the subject of discussion and debate within Diocesan Council and at Diocesan Convention. For insight and consideration, read Paul Cooney's article, "Sustainable and Responsible Investing: Controversy, Complexity, and Community."
