Liturgy & Sacraments

The diocese offers resources for prayer during special seasons of the church year as well as guidelines for sacramental celebrations.

Season of Creation

The Southern Africa Links Committee and the Environmental Network developed these resources and the Bishop authorizes them for use in our congregations this October, or at any other time of the year. The resource includes a letter from the developers, and extensive lectionary on with different thematic focus, and prayers for various parts of the Eucharistic liturgy. These were created in a response to the resolution of our 2019 Diocesan Convention to offer a season of creation in our local congregations. Most of the material is from our sister churches in the Anglican Communion.

The Migrant Cycle of Prayer

This resource is offered by St. Mark's, Capitol Hill as a response to the needs of those who are migrants, asylum seekers, and immigrants to sustain our focus on their situation and our call to respond. The document includes their rational, the example of how to use the petition, and a list of prayer intentions for each week of the remaining year. If you have questions about this resource or know of facilities not listed, please contact the Rev. Scott Lipscomb
