Who We are

The Rev. Yolanda Antoinette Rolle serves as the Campus Minister at Howard University. She is a newly ordained priest in our diocese. Yolanda and her wife, Simone, moved to the DC area in 2015 from Boston, MA where she completed her candidacy for ordination. Yolanda earned her MDiv at Yale University. Prior to becoming an ordained priest, Yolanda served as a Professor of Mathematics, and Mathematics Education. Her last professorship was served at Boston University. During the 2015-2016 academic year she taught high school mathematics at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, MD.

Yolanda is honored and happy to be the Episcopal-Anglican Chaplain at Howard University. The central mission guiding the vision and work of the Chaplaincy is “We are disciples of Jesus”. As a result of this simple mission statement, participants in our community are encouraged to: (1) worship; (2) study; (3) pray; and (4) serve.

Yolanda also serves as an Associate Priest at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in DC. On most Sunday mornings you will find her serving at the 7am and 9am service at St. Luke’s before she has to skip over to Howard for the renowned university-wide Chapel Service at 11a.

When not engaged in the work of the chaplaincy, Yolanda loves talking with her family in the Bahamas, taking long walks, writing, listening to reggae, reading poetry, spending time with Simone, and decorating their new home in College Park, MD.
