Seeking Shalom Online Zoom Course
6:30pm - 8:30pm
Seeking Shalom is a 6-week course about how reimagining our response to poverty can transform lives and restore communities. In this interactive, small group experience you will be introduced to two dozen thought leaders and practitioners, who will help us:
- learn why the traditional approaches to poverty alleviation are not working,
- explore a more robust biblical framework for understanding poverty, and
- be introduced to the five keys to healthy and effective engagement.
This course, designed by the Lupton Center, will be facilitated by the Rev. Richard Weinberg, Rector of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Washington, DC for the School for Christian Faith and Leadership. For more information, download this flyer. Yoga & Prayer Online Zoom Event

Six Fridays with the Rev. Diana V. Gustafson. Join us in the Epiphany season for a return to the light. We will gather weekly (via Zoom) to center ourselves with simple yoga and prayer. Within a framework drawn from the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer, we explore ancient ‘Wisdom’ writings and contemporary poetry that resonate in today’s world. Yoga sequences take us more deeply into a weekly theme tied to current events and Epiphany season miracles.

This course explores the traditional Lenten disciplines of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving, as relevant and powerful gifts for drawing closer to Christ at a time of profound change in the church and wider society. Each session explores a traditional Lenten practice, tracing Scriptural foundations, its place in the Anglican spiritual tradition, and its practice as an opportunity to learn and grow in these unusual and challenging times. Course participants are invited to engage in guided practice during the weeks between class sessions.
